About Lisa Main Image

After eight years in opposition, I (pronouns she/her) fought hard to be elected as part of the progressive Labor Government from 2017.

As the representative for Maylands in the WA Parliament for over 15 years, I am an advocate for improved public transport services for the local community and for increased supports for local businesses and jobs in her electorate.

I am also a leading voice in Parliament and a champion for marriage equality and LGBTIQA+ rights, empowering women in the workplace and for improving animal welfare. My work has been instrumental in shaping the Cook Labor Government's modernisation of the WA Animal Welfare Act and delivering on the Labor commitment to improving the lives of our companion animals and wildlife.

I have combined my commitment to social justice with her love of horses by achieving an internationally recognised judging qualification which enables equestrian riders with a disability to compete in the Paralympic Games.

I am honoured to represent the people of my electorate, who demonstrate such a strong community spirit.
